![]() I left you hanging a little bit there after my last post with those crazy gaping-mouth pictures- sorry! But a lot of you figured out that the photos were those of a surprised bride receiving an awesome gift on her wedding night- electricity! That’s right, after nearly three hours of power-free celebrating, it was time to finally really get the party going. ![]() So here is the point in the recap where I start gushing about how amazing our band was. We booked our band, like many things for our wedding, online. We browsed about a million bands, listened to a ton of audio samples, and were getting discouraged that they all sounded exactly the same, when we stumbled upon the Boston-based Brick Park. Mr. Tiramisu called them up the next day and although they were a little more than we planned on spending, we just had a really good feeling about them. Sometimes it pays to trust your gut. At one point in the night, although I didn’t see it, these guys were actually dumping rainwater out of one of their speakers. Their expensive equipment was certainly in danger of getting damaged or destroyed, and I don’t think it would have been unreasonable if they would have packed their stuff up, carried it carefully out of our river-filled tent, and headed back to Boston. But they didn’t. What they did was make our wedding. They rolled with the punches, playing acoustic music all night when that was the only option, shouting out our introductions and emceeing sans-microphone, and then they didn’t waste a second getting started once the power came back on. Thank you, thank you, thank you Brick Park! ![]() Once they started, they barely stopped, and reading the crowd perfectly, played non-stop upbeat music for the rest of the night. The dance floor was packed and those who couldn’t fit happily danced on the lawn outside the tent. Mr. Tiramisu and I took up residence on the dance floor and didn’t leave until the music stopped. And we were amazed at the number of guests who joined us out there. I can’t really express how just plain happy I was during this time. Earlier on, I had accepted the fact that we didn’t have power, probably weren’t going to have dancing, and I was still having the time of my life. So when the power miraculously flickered itself back on and the band started up, I was just over the moon. A little dance-floor advice for you... Do not miss out on the chance to relive your past at your wedding by dancing in a group and shouting out songs with your high school friends, even if the photos of it leave you slightly embarrassed: ![]() Grab your new husband any chance you get because the time goes by way too fast: ![]() And while you’re at it, steal a kiss: ![]() Don’t forget to take your Mom for a spin: ![]() Make sure 'Sweet Child Of Mine' is played so that you can capture moments like this between your brother and your cousin: ![]() Take a moment to marvel at how adorable and fun your best friends are (dress them identically so you can find them all right away!): ![]() ![]() Let your husband twirl you in a circle as many times as he wants (and realize that messy table tops at this point in the night just mean that people are having fun): ![]() And certainly don’t waste any time worrying that your guests aren’t having a good time if you notice scenes resembling any of the following: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next up: the final Tiramisu recap post, where we cut the cake, toss the bouquet, and (GASP!) the garter too! :) ![]() ![]() Paul, I just wanted to write to thank you and the entire band for the amazing performance that you put on at my wedding reception. During the entire night (and actually everyday since) people have commented on how great you guys were. You played all the music that I requested and played it all extremely well. People really enjoyed Walking in Memphis, the acoustic version of Umbrella (which was AWESOME), Hit me with your best shot, You give love a bad name, Summer of 69, Billie Jean, Every rose has its thorn...I could go on and on. But, like I said, everything was absolutely amazing. I only wish I had hired a videographer so I could hear the music again. :-) Thank you so much for your music and your professionalism. Please feel free to use me as a reference if you ever need one. Best, Rebecca Brett and I just wanted to thank you and Brick Park for being a part of our wedding day. Family and friends have raved about you...you guys were amazing!!!! Brett and I really appreciated you taking the time to travel to York, ME and play/be a part of our wedding reception. You guys definitely made the night...our wedding was more than we ever imagined thanks to you and Brick Park. Looking back at photos, the dance floor was packed all night...that just reiterates that fact that the band was awesome!!!! I'm sure having a packed dance floor was a great feeling for you and the band as well!! I know I was out there dancing all night!! It's been a month since the wedding and family and friends still keep telling us how great the band was and how much FUN they had dancing, singing and listening to you guys play!!!! I had seen you guys play several times in bars around Boston, but after Kate and Bill's wedding, Brett and I knew that when our wedding day came around we WANTED Brick Park...and that we got!! I think the band is a vital part of a wedding reception and you and Brick Park stole the night!!!! Thanks again...you guys are amazing!!! Words can't describe just how happy and thankful Brett and I are...Brick Park truly made our wedding day. It was an extremely fun and memorable wedding thanks to you!!! Thanks again Paul and Brick Park!!! Brett and Kathleen Jackson Talk about fun....Thank you Paul! The Live Band Karaoke definitely brought together all of the various units of our Microsoft gathering. It was a last minute option and we thought it might be a gamble, but we will definitley use Brick Park Karaoke again. The "American Idol Singing Contest" couldn't have worked out any better than this with all of the give-aways that I had. The IPOD that we gave away was truly deserved by the winner. We will see you again next year. Thanks again Paul. John Zucco, Entertainment Specialists Brick Park... What a great bunch of guys and their talent is amazing. With each member of the band performing lead vocals, I honestly felt like I was hearing the original artists singing these songs. I was informed that they also offered a female singer who does R&B and Jazz as well as everything else. Once my fiancee heard the demo CD that they mailed us, we hired them instantly. My wedding was such a success and thanks to Brick Park, one that many family members and friends still mention today. I would recommend Brick Park for any Wedding without any hesitation. Aime and Scott Turner Manchester, New Hampshire It is with great pleasure that I recommend the band Brick Park. My husband and I thought we would never find exactly what we were looking for in a band after three months of searching. We are younger and were getting frustrated with the typical wedding bands that are still playing the majority of their songs from the 70s. We had even thought that maybe we should start looking at DJ's that would play the music that we love. Finally, we found this band. They not only played the music that kept us and all of our younger crowd on the dance floor all night, but my grandparents and older family friends were also very pleased that they played the "oldies but goodies" with style and class. We have and will continue to recommend them highly. Sarah and William Bloom Newport, Rhode Island |
